On Wednesday, August 20, Maxwell Street Community Garden came together for one of our favorite traditions—the annual fundraising dinner at Sinha. With two seatings, the evening was alive with conversation, laughter, and the incredible flavors of Chef Jorgina’s kitchen.
The menu was a true celebration of community and culture, featuring traditional Brazilian dishes alongside hearty vegetarian and vegan options. Many plates were made even more special with fresh produce grown right here in our very own garden—straight from our soil to your table. Something for everyone, and everything delicious!
The weather couldn’t have been better, and guests enjoyed dining on the patio under the grape arbor, surrounded by warm breezes and the glow of summer evening light. It was the perfect backdrop for neighbors, gardeners, friends, and family to gather, share stories, and raise a glass together.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, we’re thrilled to share that the dinner raised around $1,300 to support Maxwell Street Community Garden projects. These funds will go directly toward keeping our garden thriving!
We’ve been hosting this dinner for several years now, and every time it feels a little more magical—good food, great company, and a chance to celebrate what makes our community so vibrant.
If you missed this year, don’t worry—there’s always next time!
