Ropes & Gray
On July 13, 2024, Maxwell Street Community Garden was thrilled to host attorneys, staff, and families from the Chicago office of Ropes & Gray, a global law firm with more than 1,500 employees across 14 offices worldwide.

As part of their community engagement efforts, Ropes & Gray volunteers of all ages rolled up their sleeves to connect with nature and give back. From weeding and planting to mulching and watering, their teamwork helped us keep the garden thriving during the peak of the growing season.

But the day wasn’t just about hard work — it was about hands-on learning and community connection. One of the highlights included a special garden tour with our beekeeper, where participants got an up-close look at the vital role bees play in pollination and the local food system.

This event showcased the power of corporate volunteerism — bringing together colleagues and families to make a tangible impact, build relationships, and experience the beauty of growing something meaningful together.

Thank you, Ropes & Gray, for choosing to spend your day with us — and for helping cultivate not just a garden, but a stronger community.
